Dyslexia
What's something you learned about yourself later in life?
For me, I learned ten years ago l, at 41 that I'm dyslexic. This fact hasn't altered my life since finding out, but it did explain issues I had as a kid.
For example, why I'm such a slow reader and crappy speller. But, I can retain nearly everything I read.
I sucked at school. I was always a horrible test taker.
Left or Right? I still have to make an L with my hand. North, East, West, South made so much more sense to me.
I'm a terrible multi-tasker. Just one thing at a time or I freak out.
Those are a few things that finally made sense, but I've found there to be more benefits than issues. Like I see big picture really well, for one.
Best of all, I now get to LAUGH at all the little daily things that I read incorrectly.
Like today for example, the sign in the highschool hallway advertising PROM $65
...I see 𝘗𝘖𝘙𝘕 $65.
